About the author

My earliest childhood memories are soaked in music. I can still picture my best friend’s older brother proudly pulling out his brand-new Black Sabbath album and blowing my young mind with sounds I’d never heard before. I remember staring in total wonder at the bi-fold album jacket of my older sister’s copy of Elton John’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. And I’ll never forget my mom’s excitement the day the movers carried that inherited upright piano into our living room.

So, when we moved to a new school district in 9th grade and I discovered the high school had a student-run radio station? I was over the moon! Broadcasting became the one class where I consistently pulled straight A’s every semester. It was also the only school activity that had me showing up early or staying late—because I loved being behind that mic, talking about the records I was playing. I knew right then: I’d found my passion.

After a short stint in the military, I headed to broadcasting school and soon landed gigs at Country and Top 40 stations. Man, I was living the dream. Life eventually took me down a different path into IT (long story), but those early DJ days will always have a permanent spot in my heart.

With Sonic Pulse Reviews, I’m finally getting back to that passion—sharing my love of music with anyone who’ll listen. The reviews will be real and straight from the gut: if I love it, you’ll know; if I don’t, you’ll know that too.

I really hope you’ll join me on this journey.
